Outside the home is a spacious and very private lot that features many trees,
shrubs and plants such as, Elm trees, Magnolia trees, Dogwood, Boxwood, Redbud,
Crepe Myrtle, Rose Bushes, Fig tree, Mock Orange and more too numerous to mention.
Also surviving is the old Smoke House which is believed to be the only original log
outbuilding to remain standing in Princess Anne and one of a handful remaining in the county.
This one may be in the best condition. The parking area is paved with large antique bricks.
The Handy House is in close proximity to the Boxwood Gardens, post-office and County library
all within 100 yards of the house.
